Time Out

Baseball matters day, and I must say, "That's the ball game".  No extra innings this time, no delay because of rain -  although it is raining, maybe we can consider it an injury time out.  Whatever it is, I have to take this time to comfort my spirit.

If you follow lamoreinitmo.blogspot.com, my other blog site, you know that I am mourning the passing away of my father.  So instead of emotional banter, I will say ciao for just a little while to regroup.  When I return, God willing, I will have much to talk about I'm sure.  Until then please enjoy those entries you may have skipped over.  Enjoy life!

To all of you readers, I'll be back March 1, 2009.  Thank you for your encouragement.

SAT or Gregorysm?

Does that acronym still send chills up your spine?  The rumors are the same every year about the elimination of the Standard Achievement Test.  But just in case you don't believe the hype, or you find test taking fun, log on to College Board and  answer the SAT question of the day.

YOU'RE PROBABLY ASKING YOURSELF RIGHT NOW WHY THIS ENTRY IS TAKING UP GREGORYSM SPACE?  It's not.   Not really.  Just a detour or diversion.

Here's one for the books --

Gregory as he sat on the couch inside a caped blanket and playing the same video game that has haunted him for months said exactly this --

"I still feel like a kid".  To which my mind went straight to - how do I handle this delicately.   After the mind laughter stopped, I could heartfeltly tell him that he is indeed on track in his life, but if we have to address how he sits there and exhibits himself and consciously gives away all his ethos by finishing himself off daily playing that game and worrying about why he still feel a kid ten years from now -- THEN we have a problem.

The Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth?

When is saying too much not good?  Should all your dirty laundry be aired out on your multi-media accounts?  What part of you is safe to reveal and what's off limits?

I have had this discussion with many people.  Recently with someone very dear to my heart.  What it comes down to is as all writers know already - when you write or create something you give a piece of yourself away.  Maybe the readers who follow your blog entries or even your life on Facebook or MySpace are genuinely interested in what you have to say.  So what I can add from this is -- YOU BETTER MAKE IT COUNT.  Use these venues as learning spots not only for those who may enjoy reading, but also for yourself.  Learn every day.

America's Got Talent

Here's new business getting started in the DC area  -- She Miss Boss.  These young women have taken on the task of promoting new or undiscovered talent in their area.  I think too that by helping developing talent they will be richly blessed in their endeavors.  Good for them.

Speaking of talent -- did you know that the William Morris Agency is located at One William Morris Place, Beverly Hills, CA 90212?  I've lived in Los Angeles County for over 15 years and I just learned that fact today.  Guess I never needed it before -- hmmm...  and no, I'm not giving away any secret, you could have looked that up yourself on line.

Countdown

You've seen those countdown clock - right?  The last one I saw was counting down to the end of the presidency of George W. Bush.  Are all countdowns an anticipation for the next chapter?  I think possibly yes.

My next chapter countdown is to a new residency.  That's always fun.  Although the place is smaller it doesn't lack character and it has lots of wonderful amenities - a fitness center, a theater, swimming pool, work center, meeting room, and loads of planned activities for the gated community.  Stepford at it's finest.

Any way, as it stands - three weeks and counting.

100!

Time does fly when you're having fun!  My 100th blog entry!  This has been fun -- the sorting out what this blogsite will be, as well as the introduction to L'AMORE.  I hope everyone who logs in to read it regularly finds it entertaining, informative, amusing, or just something to take you away from the mundane.

Gregorysm's has been a big hit - it is always a conversational piece amongst the readers.  I'm sure I'll have fresh material week-in and week-out when it comes to the finished off one.  With baseball season around the corner, there will plenty of Dodgers news and Baseball Matters will be a regular on Fridays.  Of course the movie reviews will continue - I frankly think the reviews are well versed and a good read for anyone who puts stock in the subjective views of someone else - me.

Thanks for reading.  Share this site with your family and friends!

PICKLE THIS!

BASEBALL HAPPENS!  For all you Fantasy Baseball fans, the 2009 preview of players with their stats - has been posted.  Check it out!  Of course this link goes to my home team's site - the DODGERS.

You ever been in a "pickle"?  A pickle in baseball is when a runner gets caught between two bases -- the result usually is an out if you're too slow -- and that's mentally as well as physically.

Most life pickles deal with the mental.  Basically it's when you're caught between a rock and a hard place.  As is what happened this week to our beloved Gregory (no it's not Gregorysm's Day).  Greg found himself in such a predicament (or as he puts it - EXHIBITED).   Apparently, from the way too many of his "friends" on his Facebook account responded, he definitely looks to his peers for their advice.  That's way too scary to even think about!

Who do you look to for advice when you're in a pickle?  Think about that and get back to me - or not.  Whatever you do, have a great weekend!

Ciao Y'all!

Tomorrow I celebrate my 100th entry to the blog site! WOW!  Hope you're liking it.

Gregorysm's Day

Mr.  Man has a final exam this Friday, and was upset about being cast for this new MTV show that would shoot at the same precise time of his final.  He had told the person in charge of casting about his schedule.  After hearing this story in detail I told him that was her bad to which he replied "I know I have ethos".  Umm-k

Guessing that "ETHOS" is having all your marbles - or sense of self worth - or savvy - ?  I do know that losing all your ethos is bad... and before you get your ethos back you must admit you lost it in the first place.  Thus says Gregory.

But --

Webster on-line defines ETHOS as the distinguishing character, sentiment, moral nature, or guiding beliefs of a person, group or institution.  Oh really?

1 Year $25M?

Word is, Manny has turned down yet another offer from the DODGERS.  $25,000,000 count them with me!  This would have made him the second highest payed player in baseball history behind I think they said A Rod.  Whatever.  At this point I say -- Take your hindparts on...

Does anybody know what he and his "agent" want?

Don't sweat it BLUE CREW!

Priority or Option

After I read The Pink Looking Glass blog entry today, I commented:

DON'T MAKE SOMEONE YOUR PRIORITY WHEN THEY MAKE YOU THEIR OPTION.

Priority:    a thing that is regarded more important than another.
Option:     a thing that "may" be chosen.

Things that make you go hmm?  Sure.

Steelers vs Cardinals

Which two teams played in Super Bowl XLIII?  For all you baseball fans this marks the near end of football season.  There's still the Probowl, in Honolulu like always -- YAWN...

I like football, if you're talking about the Redskins and any team that beats Dallas on any given Sunday, Monday or Thursday.  The party platters in the grocery store are usually on sale for this day.

Enough monologue banter...

One thing I did find very interesting on NFL.com was Super Bowl history   The Redskins went to  back to back Super Bowls in 1983 & 84 -- they were there again in 88 and 92 -- their debute at the big game was in 1973!  Click the link to see how many times your team has played in the Super Bowl - let me know!
