Maybe it Was My Day to Watch Them

Because baseball matters -- while taking care of business for l'Amore Intimo I was unable to watch their games from Sunday through yesterday. Well apparently they lost three to the Cardinals in my absent, but as soon as I returned to the bench, they beat the Cardinals to keep from getting swept and they're winning tonight against the Braves, as I watch the recording from earlier today.

Maybe it's time to take my favorite little leaguer to a game.

Gregorysm is So Much Fun

Gregory exclaimed yesterday when he walked into house --

"It's hot as satan in here!"

I thought to myself "does he mean hotter then hell?" and then I remembered who was talking. He then went on to add --

"Do you know how to operate a fan?"

I thought to myself "that's a rhetorical question?" and then I remembered who was talking, and chose this time to defend myself with "you weren't here and I am fine like this, but if you want to pay the electric bill we can turn on every fan in the place and the AC". Needless to say, I got no more lip, but did eventually turn the ac on - because it was hot as satan in here!

Words from the Wise

The less you associate with some people, the more your life will

improve. Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your

mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their

impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you

grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want

you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are. Friends that

don't help you climb will want you to crawl. Your friends will stretch

your vision or choke your dream. Those that don't increase you will

eventually decrease you.

Consider this:

Never receive counsel from unproductive people. Never discuss your

problems with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because

those who never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how. Not

everyone has a right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the

worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person.

Don't follow anyone who's not going anywhere.

With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it. Be

careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life.

Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships. If

you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate

with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.

"A mirror reflects a man's face, but what he is really like is shown by

the kind of friends he chooses."

The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom

you closely associate - for the good and the bad.

Note: Be not mistaken. This is applicable to family as well as friends.

Yes...do love, appreciate and be thankful for your family, for they will

always be your family no matter what. Just know that they are human

first and though they are family to you, they may be a friend to someone

else and will fit somewhere in the criteria above.

"In Prosperity Our Friends Know Us. In Adversity We Know Our friends."

"Never make someone a priority when you are only an option for them."

"If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the

habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a

prevailing attitude.".. .................. ...

It's The Team

What is the success of the Dodgers?

Matt Kemp scored all four runs in Sunday's game - that has only been done by one other player in MLB history, and that guy is no longer playing.

The Dodgers are now 25 games over 500 and 8 and 1/2 games in front of the 2nd place San Francisco Giants.

My fantasy team - the finishers - is in second place and having in Manny and Juan Pierre on my team is the best thing ever, wish I could have all the Dodgers - I would definitely be in 1st place.

And to top all that off - My favorite little leaguer is at one of the best youth baseball camps there is.

There is baseball and then there are those other sports. - Ok ok, I'll stop being so dramatic. I'm still a NASCAR fan and I am a diehard Redskins fan, but the Dodgers are true blue to me.

Who's in Right Field?

No - who's on first! I introduced this comedy act to my favorite little leaguer and he laughed and laughed, but keenly remarked that right field was the only position not mentioned. Youtube.com really connects the present with the past.

He Made It!

The test which was not a final for Gregory was ok after all. After all the worry and a giant cram session with himself he said he felt he got 7 correct. Hoping that was 7 out of 10 and not 7 out of 100, but he's content and trying to stay above water like everyone else, so I'll leave it alone.

The Dodgers are back in play tonight! Good thing - I was starting to have withdrawals. What can I say, I miss my boys in blue when they are not playing.

Statistics

Are statistics boring, real or just plain ol' relative? Well, we will soon find out. The prince of exhibit will soon be taking a statistics' final today and is not a happy camper. One might say he' feeling a bit finished. Bad thing is, I remember not thinking that my creative mind really cared a hootin' hyena about this course. So how do you cram for something you don't give a fig about?

That wasn't a rhetorical question - but a shout out to anyone who understands this subject and how to study for it! All I can do right now is hope for the best - pray for the best.

I'm sure gregorysm's day - tomorrow - will be a gem.

#1 Team in Baseball!

I can believe it! Talking about my BLUE CREW, because baseball matters! They just got finished taking Milwaukee down in 10. Don't get 'em in extra innings - they'll beat you every time. I believe the boys hit 5 homers tonight - one was a granny by Matt Kemp, who also made an awesome catch for the 3rd out in the bottom of the tenth! I say he's a keeper. but in my heart I believe they all are keepers! They give me hours of enjoyment every season, win or lose - this season they just happen to be winning a lot! 24 games over 500! That's ridiculous!

"Prince Exhibit"

Yes, this is how Gregory introduced himself as he walked into the house yesterday after a long day. He makes me laugh. Laughing is a very good thing!

Here's to you most honorable "Prince Exhibit".

Does everyone remember what an exhibit is? Let's review gregorysms. An exhibit is someone who has been over tasked and most of the time looks like it. Over tasked from working two jobs and going to school, over tasked from dealing with life's issues big and small, over tasked or embarrassed by your own chosen actions, over tasked by someone finishing you off. Exhibit.

So Gregory says he is the prince of exhibits. That's funny!

"Most charities supported by a Pop Star"

If there was ever a doubt about the compassion Michael Jackson not only held in his heart but acted upon here's what I learned about this beautiful and talented man today - he holds the record for the most charities supported by a pop star! Some of us talk the talk but few walk the walk.

Check out what this site has to say about the greatest performer EVER. AllMichaelJackson.com

The memorial service is beautiful, and as everyone speaks all I hear is what I know deep in my heart - Michael Jackson will be forever loved and remembered by millions.. His favorite song, a song written by Charlie Chaplin - SMILE. He truly did demonstrate the love of God through his talent and giving. I love you Michael.

CRY

Michael Jackson's memorial is tomorrow and I wasn't one of the lucky 17,500 to get a ticket to attend - I will watch it on television. But I was listening to his "Invincible" cd and remembering how I enjoyed every song on this cd. Listen to the words of his music. My favorite little leaguer was listening to the words of this song CRY. He actually listens to the words. Any way he remarked "he did do it by himself - change the world". Listening to the song myself and hearing my baby silently speak these words brought tears to my eyes.

There are plenty of naysayers, haters, judgmental ones who will overlook so much good this man brought into the world, blessed with the talent he shared, but I don't have anything to say to those people. Listen to the words of this song - CRY - watch the video, enjoy.

Linked

My cousin and her long time friend have a store stocked with collectibles on Ebay.com called EMLO Collectibles. I was personally amazed when I saw all of these very interesting items. Everything is nicely displayed and frankly I believe it's worth the click. Check it out when you have time to browse - you may see something you've been looking for.

Yay!

We did it! www.lamoreintimo.com is up and running! Now to figure out how to direct traffic to the website.

I actually got to relax today. Sat and watched the Dodgers against the Padres. OMGoodness! They were winning with a big lead at the top of the 9th. By the bottom of the 9th and 4 pitchers later the game was tied. They finally won it with a homerun hit by Loney #7 - the cute first baseman - and Weaver who held the Padres during their last ups. Yes baseball matters, and that was an exciting nail biter!

We can cover the male influence and Gregorysm's Day with this one sentence from you know who (yes Gregory) "I don't know what I'm doing". And on that note, because my Mother taught me if you can't say something nice... - I will sign out.

When Life is too Busy

I have come to the realization that running your your business doesn't allot for much sleep. To even think about getting in the bed at a reasonable hour is insane - I guess. All I know is that I find it very hard to wind down after a day of production. I now need to settle in to the routine, and learn how to take time for me. Juggling l'Amore Intimo and my Chase's schedule on top of life is a tall order. But I'm smiling because it is a joyful time. Maybe no sleep, but when sleep does come, it is restful, peaceful, nice dreams, refreshing.

I did get to enjoy the July 4th fireworks from the rooftop of my building. Really cool! Happy in Los Angeles.
