It seems like only yesterday when the season opened. I was happy to have Manny on my fantasy team. My team was in first place for the longest time. Then Manny was sidelined for 50 games and Buddy stepped up. My Juan Pierre - I was able to pick him up for my fantasy team and life was good. Buddy maybe wasn't hitting the homeruns that Manny hit every now and then - but Buddy will always be my favorite player outside of my own kid. Then Manny came back and things stayed at an even keel, but the Dodgers were still the best team in the league - until tonight.
My Boys in Blue, my Baby Blues, my Buddy, my Dodgers laid their season to rest tonight with a 4 to 10 loss to the Phillies giving them the NLCS. Now I can debate about who they should trade during the off season and try to afford season tickets for next season. And in case you doubt -- I LOVE MY BOYS IN BLUE! May you all have a great off season full of learning and growing and joy.

Dodgers vs Phillies NLCS Game 1
Win or lose I still love my boys in blue -- A LOT! No one can't fault them for coming ready to play, because they were. This proven by The Loney homer and the Manny 3 run homer. My only issue is the kid on the mound. Things fell apart in the 5th inning on the mound, and the boys had to fight back to almost come back 6 to 8. There's always tomorrow boys!
Oh and my Mom thinks James Loney is a cutie patootie. To that i say...

Dodgers vs Cardinals Post Season Game 2
Bottom of the 9th - 2 outs - Buddy (Juan Pierre) just scored from 2nd base off a hit from Belliard to tie up the score!!! I thought the game was coming on at 6PM but it came on at 3. That's ok because it's recording all Dodger baseball. Back to the game. Bases loaded - Mark Loretta up to pitch hit - he has not let us down all year!! Dodgers win it! 22 last at bat wins this season. My town!

Get Back to The Magic
Today is Friday and Baseball still matters. My boys in blue had a day off yesterday and I have to admit, I needed that day off right with them. Torre is working out every scenario and nothing has been doing to trick these past couple of games. I’m feeling maybe the season has been to long but I hope and pray they get back to the magic we as Dodgers’ fans have become accustomed to seeing. Without it, my question would be - how long can they hold on to the post season?
I really don’t want to be so analytical when it comes to baseball and especially Dodgers baseball. Ultimately I would prefer to sit and relax - wind down from my day with the Dodgers. So I will leave the sport commentating alone and simply root root root for the home team.

Where Have All My Dodgers Gone?
Maybe it's hard to keep up with your own self when you're winning. All I know is for the past few games - against the Pirates - the Dodgers have not been all present or accounted for. Probably best I was at the office this morning for the beat down they got. Just turned off the rebroadcast of the game in the bottom of the 8th with the 10 to 0 score.
What's wrong guys? You're going to the playoffs but throwing it away in these final games? Say it ain't so Joe.
Ok, I'll stop being so dramatic. But just so you know - I still love my Dodger Blue!

Dodgers Headed for the Post Season - DUH!
Tonight's Dodger win over the Pirates clinched a ticket to the post season. COOL. But tell me something that wasn't obvious. They only have the best pitching staff in the league. They also have the baby blues - Ethier, Kemp, Loney, Russell. They have Hudson, Casey Blake and Manny. But best of all they have buddy - my buddy Juan Pierre. The player who gives his all every single day for love of the game. And a bench full of extremely talented players.
Playoff bound?! Did you doubt? I didn't.
I love the DODGERS!

This American Life
Today as I was office monitor I listened to the September 20, 2009 podcast of this American Life. It was the real story behind the new Matt Damon movie, The Informant. Either I was extremely bored or I really found an interest in this bipolar informant. All I know is - I'm going to see this movie and write a review.
The Dodgers are beating the Nationals right now 15 to 2 at the bottom of the 9th. Gotta love those boys in blue!

Where Are My Dodgers?!
I searched for my Dodgers and I can't find them. I have settled here for the night with my cupcake from Sprinkles and remote in hand, posed to watch the Dodger's game. Well it's not on, and I can't find it, and don't know how I missed it or why the stupid DVR did not record the game. But tomorrow I get to go to my favorite little leaguer game at 8AM and then off to Dodgertown! A double header!
I told you baseball matters.

Here's What Sucks
There are only 18 more game left in the regular season for the Dodgers. Here's the consolation - They'll be a part of the boys of October!
I can't say enough about how proud I am of the Dodgers this season. I love my boys in blue. There are so many different winners on the team. I define winner as someone who gives all that they have every day. A winner know the competition - and the competition is themself.
Two years ago when the news of acquiring Joe Torre was made known, a hater told me and another Dodger fan not to think the Dodgers would do anything more than lose just because they got Torre. Well - Mr. Man - from Utah - we're L.A., we love the Dodgers win, place or draw. Oh, and eat your heart out because my boys of summer are headed into the fall! Now I must go to register for an opportunity to purchase playoff tickets. WOW...

The Biggest Exhibition
Yeah I missed yesterday gregorysms - but not actually, as I was fortunate enough to spend four hours with the chap as I re-twisted his locks. I don't get paid enough for this stuff.
Watching of course the Dodgers game. listening to Chick promo about the sleepover at Dodgers stadium on August 14th - Mr Gregory laughed and announced --
"You get to pay $100 to have the worst sleep of your life and in the morning you will be a part of the biggest exhibition ever!"
When you think about it that way - it kind of does sound pretty silly. And worst of all, the Dodgers won't even be there.

Dodgertown
A fun time tonight at Dodgers' stadium outside of the 17 to 4 victory over the Brewers - there was a runner on the field. Probably saw a friend of his on the other side of the stadium from where he was sitting and thought the shortest route was of course - the field. KCAL 9 didn't show the perp but Chick commentated it well enough and I'm guessing the poor guy was thrown out and asked never to return. The poor guy probably lost a bet and that was the consequence.
Any way - How 'bout them Dodgers! Possibly the hardest thing about winning - being in first place - is the expectation to remain in first place. The boys in blue don't seem too fazed by this though - they keep on keeping on and I like that. Manny was in the game tonight - he hit a homerun and had a great double to knock in two runners. So that means my fantasy team should have lots of points today - Yay!
I wanna go to Dodgertown.

It's The Team
What is the success of the Dodgers?
Matt Kemp scored all four runs in Sunday's game - that has only been done by one other player in MLB history, and that guy is no longer playing.
The Dodgers are now 25 games over 500 and 8 and 1/2 games in front of the 2nd place San Francisco Giants.
My fantasy team - the finishers - is in second place and having in Manny and Juan Pierre on my team is the best thing ever, wish I could have all the Dodgers - I would definitely be in 1st place.
And to top all that off - My favorite little leaguer is at one of the best youth baseball camps there is.
There is baseball and then there are those other sports. - Ok ok, I'll stop being so dramatic. I'm still a NASCAR fan and I am a diehard Redskins fan, but the Dodgers are true blue to me.

He Made It!
The test which was not a final for Gregory was ok after all. After all the worry and a giant cram session with himself he said he felt he got 7 correct. Hoping that was 7 out of 10 and not 7 out of 100, but he's content and trying to stay above water like everyone else, so I'll leave it alone.
The Dodgers are back in play tonight! Good thing - I was starting to have withdrawals. What can I say, I miss my boys in blue when they are not playing.

#1 Team in Baseball!
I can believe it! Talking about my BLUE CREW, because baseball matters! They just got finished taking Milwaukee down in 10. Don't get 'em in extra innings - they'll beat you every time. I believe the boys hit 5 homers tonight - one was a granny by Matt Kemp, who also made an awesome catch for the 3rd out in the bottom of the tenth! I say he's a keeper. but in my heart I believe they all are keepers! They give me hours of enjoyment every season, win or lose - this season they just happen to be winning a lot! 24 games over 500! That's ridiculous!

Yay!
We did it! www.lamoreintimo.com is up and running! Now to figure out how to direct traffic to the website.
I actually got to relax today. Sat and watched the Dodgers against the Padres. OMGoodness! They were winning with a big lead at the top of the 9th. By the bottom of the 9th and 4 pitchers later the game was tied. They finally won it with a homerun hit by Loney #7 - the cute first baseman - and Weaver who held the Padres during their last ups. Yes baseball matters, and that was an exciting nail biter!
We can cover the male influence and Gregorysm's Day with this one sentence from you know who (yes Gregory) "I don't know what I'm doing". And on that note, because my Mother taught me if you can't say something nice... - I will sign out.

It is True! Baseball Matters
True BLUE! Dodger Blue! As Gregory says, the fastest way to get back your ethos is to admit you have no ethos. I have no ethos. YAY! Now I can get it back.
After the past few days of dealing with a bipolar personality (I survived - no applause just throw money) I was calmed by this fact -- I LOVE THE DODGERS! I am true blue. I thought my Mother's adoration for football's Washington Redskins ran too deep, but home safe and sound I watch the faces of my boys in blue and I know all of them - I love all of them. Anyone can be up to bat and I could sit in the chair next to the veteran announcer - Chick - and tell you something about that player.
Oh to be a well off entrepreneur -- I will own season tickets - the best I can get. One day soon boys. One day soon.

My Fantasy
I'm talking about baseball y'all!
My MLB fantasy team - the finishers - are in second place after competing against the #1 team on the east coast - the run scorers. There was a 9 point difference when the fat lady sang. But at least I remain #1 in the west.
Best news today is the boys in blue WON. The Dodgers beat the Rockies 16 to 6 in Colorado. I was in Colorado once for several weeks. Cool place. Still looking to travel this summer to see the Dodgers on the road. Question is - which road?

My Fave Buddy, Juan Pierre - BASEBALL MATTERS
After yesterday's win against the Phillies, the Dodgers took that action to Miami and showed the Marlins what's what. It's probably always great or even euphoric when a player has a great game against the former team who traded him away. That's what Buddy did today helping the Dodgers to a 6 and 4 victory over the Marlins in a stadium called Land Shark.
With Manny still suspended, #9 Juan Pierre has stepped in and stepped up. Placing him in Manny's position on my fantasy team - like the Dodgers did on the real diamond, was my best move to date in that game. Way to be Buddy!

Whoops!
I dropped my cell phone down a flight of concrete stairs today. It busted. Have to get a new one. Good thing I purchased that insurance. Hopefully all my contacts are backed up online.
I'm rambling because it's time for dessert. A new dig called Shave It opened up in the 661 and I feel like paying them a visit for some shaved ice and exotic flavored sugar water. I'll report back tomorrow in Baseball Matters. Speaking of baseball, the Dodgers won in extra innings 5 to 3 against the Phillies.

Out of the Box
Tomorrow is the regular baseball matters entry but now that baseball season is here, baseball matters every day! The Dodgers especially. The series against the Padres went 2 and 2 - a split. Not bad, and not good either.
Today's adventures in canvassing actually went better than the Dodgers' game. I was asked to let a newby shadow me while I worked on an apartment complex - several apartments. After being shadowed for 6 hours, this body told me that my way was easier and more efficient. He was relieved and felt he had learned something. The moral of this learning to me -- there is always the book, but sometimes going off book is best and works out to everyone's advantage. Be an out-of-the-box thinker and impress somebody.
