Out for a graduation celebration that the ex informs me I am welcome to attend (yay! since it's my graduate!) the ex uses this time to up heave. Big surprise?! Not really. But the setting was selfish at best and cowardly. At the restaurant I had not minutes before arrived with the graduate, when he wants to go somewhere to "talk". Where's the no drama he requested, was my thought. But to avoid a table front scene I agreed to move his "talk" to the front of the place, still in view of witnesses. He then proceeds to tell me - demanding - that our youngest will come to North Carolina this summer to spend two weeks with him.
After the laughter stopped in my head, my response was NO! He then insisted that's what's in the court order. To which I reminded, lots of other important things (i.e. support) are in the court order too, and when I get the back support maybe I will consider such nonsense.
So you see, ignorance is not bliss. It's just plain ole stupid. Here's someone who left his first family to marry a woman with two boys the ages of his sons, packed up and moved across the country, left this side in hot water with the mortgage company - who thankfully settled on the short sale, if I must say thanks -- owes $25,000 arrearages from last year, and is up to $7500 this year, then slithers back into town and demands the custodial parent, me to adhere to court orders while he does not. All I can say is people don't let your babies marry idiots.
For all of your honorable Dads in the house -- KUDOS to you, keep up the goodness.
Ciao Y'all
PS - I make no apologies for my candor - if someone can learn from these lessons and not have to go through it themselves, it's all a good thing.
