A Time to Laugh - A Time to Cry

Today was one of those days when nothing was fun or funny but laughter came from an unlikely sorce - my team leader in these adventures of canvassing.  We laughed at how ridiculously vast this area is.  About the footsteps that took her down a dirt road and into cow dung.  About the mole who was planted  in our group.  We even laughed at the Mentryville Park Ranger who appeared to me at the door of his mobile home, looking as though I had awaken him from a nooner.  (I used to be able to take nooners - now I walk the pavement to gather map spots for the census bureau. YAY)

As I said in a previous entry, having a job is great because you know when the money is going to come in.  But when that very job takes you away from what you love, and causes you stress, it's best that it's only temporary - no strings attached.  I cried today trying to convince someone of this piece of reality - why is it okay for me to work a job that's very tedious and mundane and causes me to miss out on my life, my creativity, my home, and "they" can do work at home, that may or may not pay,  but it's what "they" want to do?  Would "they" be happy working a job where their creativity was stifled and/or unused?  My answer from the deep place inside my heart is NO, and understandably so.

I guess I'm saying - what's good for one is good for all.  Live and let live.  Laugh with a team leader about nothing, cry alone about everything.

On the horizon the 2009 baseball season  starts next week.  Thank you God!

Ciao Y'all
