Baseball Happens!

With spring training camps starting next month - now is a great time to add this weekly regular -- BASEBALL HAPPENS!  For my screenplay First Base, I tried to watch every baseball movie ever made, but especially the top ten as chosen by ESPN.  Yes, Kevin Costner, does appear in a lot of them, so does James Earl Jones (supposing he wasn't only "Luke's" father).  Needless to say all those hours taught me a lot.

Robert Deniro said in the fan (I paraphrase) -- "baseball's better than life, baseball's fair".  The metaphoric teachings from the diamond go a long way.  I have watch many a game, from little league to the bigs and lived a bit too, so here's what I got to start with --

When you get thrown a curve ball, keep your head on it, and take your best swing to hit it out of the park!  or When things get tough, hang in there and do all you can do to come out on top!
