The start of a new year can be hampered with unwanted rollover minutes from the past year - the anguish of knowing this year you have to go through the fire - get through the rainy season and try to salvage crops that will not be sufficient enough to keep up with last year's harvest that was bad.
Tomorrow my Mother will have attended her second funeral this year - yes it's only the start of January. I guess knowing that things could be a lot worse is a comfort. Or not.
